A blog about world and global music from a guy who co-hosts the KUNM Global Music Show, 89.9 FM Albuquerque/Santa Fe, http://www.kunm.org. I post one song a day, with reflections on the music, life, and whatever else comes into my mind.

Veda Be Ready: Uma Mohan and "Shiva Panchakshara Stotram/Shadakshara Stotram"
Uma Mohan is the artist behind today's random song: Shiva Panchakshara Stotram/Shadakshara Stotram. Mohan was born in India into a family of musicians and trained from her childhood in Indian classical music. She is also an artist, dramatist, dancer, poet and writer. She attempts in her music to impart the essence of the Vedas and make it accessible to every person. You can find Shiva Panchakshara Stotram/Shadakshara Stotram on her 2007 CD Divine Chants of Shiva and on the compilation CD Putumayo Presents: India (2009).
