A blog about world and global music from a guy who co-hosts the KUNM Global Music Show, 89.9 FM Albuquerque/Santa Fe, http://www.kunm.org. I post one song a day, with reflections on the music, life, and whatever else comes into my mind.

Drawing Vivid Pictures: Amélie-les-crayons and "Ta P'tite Flamme"
Our random tune for today is performed by Amélie-les-crayons, a French singer-songwriter who emphasizes theatricality and humor in her works. Starting as a solo piano singer in 2001, she put together a group in 2003 that became very popular first in their region and then over the whole of France and Switzerland. That led to a theatrical show in 2004 complete with a magic piano that opens itself and grows flowers, funny special effects, and the connection that Amélie builds with her audiences. In 2009, they put together another show featuring a "monster piano." She is currently working on yet another elaborate show. You can find this song, Ta P'tite Flamme, on her 2004 CD Et Pourquoi Les Crayons and on the compilation CD Putumayo Presents: Paris (2006).
