A blog about world and global music from a guy who co-hosts the KUNM Global Music Show, 89.9 FM Albuquerque/Santa Fe, http://www.kunm.org. I post one song a day, with reflections on the music, life, and whatever else comes into my mind.

Beloved Gregory: Mac-Talla and "Griogal Cridhe"
A veritable Scottish supergroup, Mac-Talla, brings us today's random tune, called Griogal Cridhe. Formed in 1987 and made up of some of the foremost Scottish musicians, including Eilidh Mackenzie, Christine Primrose, Arthur Cormack, Alison Kinnaird and Blair Douglas, the group was backed by the involvement and support of the An Comunn Gàidhealach America, the Gaelic Society of America. You can find Griogal Cridhe on their only album, 1994's ...Mairidh Gaol Is Ceol and on the 2001 various artists compilation The Rough Guides: Music Rough Guides. The song is a lament for a lord that was put to death.
Listen to songs like this and more on the KUNM Global Music Show every Monday night from 10 pm - 1 am Mountain Standard Time. Live streaming, program information and the two-week digital archive can be found at http://www.kunm.org.
