A blog about world and global music from a guy who co-hosts the KUNM Global Music Show, 89.9 FM Albuquerque/Santa Fe, http://www.kunm.org. I post one song a day, with reflections on the music, life, and whatever else comes into my mind.

Tuareg Guitars: Nabil Baly Othmani and "Edjmayegh S'emeli"
Algerian Tuareg musician Nabil Baly Othmani brings us today's random tune titled Edjmayegh S'emeli. The son of the late Algerian oud player and singer Othmane Bali, Nabil Baly Othmani began playing guitar at age 13 and has since tried to pick up musically where his father left off. He has also learned to play the darbouka, and remembers his father, who died tragically in a flood in 2005, by doing many of his father's songs. You can find Edjmayegh S'emeli on the 2011 various artists compilation Ishumar 2 - New Tuareg Guitars.
Listen to songs like this and more on the KUNM Global Music Show every Monday night from 10 pm - 1 am Mountain Standard Time. Live streaming, program information and the two-week digital archive can be found at http://www.kunm.org.
